Severe Weather Training Classes


Severe weather spotter classes are being held now. Training sessions are being held by all of the National Weather Service Offices this month. These sessions are 3 hours long and once you have completed the course, you have the option of becoming a trained spotter for the National Weather Service. Below is the scheduled classes of training sessions held by the National Weather Service Boston office. Not all of the dates have been set by the office, so for the latest information, the NWS Boston will have all of the updates on training sessions.



APRIL 28
     Tuesday, 7 PM to 10 PM
     United Church of Winchester's "Fellowship Hall"
     4 South Main St. (Corner of Main & Parker Streets)
     Winchester, NH

APRIL 29
     Wednesday, 7 PM to 10 PM
     Greenfield Middle School, Greenfield MA

APRIL 30
     Thursday, 7 PM to 10 PM
     Palmer High School
     4105 Main Street, Thorndike, MA
     (Hampden County)

          Directions:
          Take Mass Pike Exit 8. Go North on Route 32, passing an
          Ames Drug Store on left and Big Y supermarket on left. Turn
          left onto High Street. Bear left at fork, where there is a
          variety store. Continue on High Street (bearing left at any
          forks). High Street meets Main Street in Thorndike. Quick
          left off of Main Street to Palmer High School. If you get to
          a police station, gas, and church at Rt. 181, you have gone
          too far. Total distance is about 3 miles from Mass Pike Exit 8.

          Take left turn at fire station
          onto Mechanic Street
          Mechanic St. becomes Switch Road
          Continue on Switch Rd to School
          on right hand side.
